I love yoga - it helps me find peace and balance in everything I do. My intention is to share my love for this practice by creating a place where people can practice, teach, and simply “be fabulous”! Spirit Bear Power Yoga is the wonderful confluence of my business experience, love for wellness, and passion for empowering!
As a fitness instructor and avid runner, I always knew I needed to stretch. In my 20s I dabbled with yoga here and there, but it always came after all the fitness classes were taught, the weights were lifted, and the miles were run. I took my first hot yoga class because I was training for my first ½ ironman triathlon and someone told me that yoga would help me breathe during the swim. The class kicked my butt. It also took me out of my head and forced me to the present moment. I was hooked. Since that first class in 2004, I have watched yoga balance and re-balance me physically, mentally, and emotionally and this is what I want to share and teach with everyone.
Christy completed a 200 hour teacher training at Prana Power Yoga in Cambridge and is currently working on a 500 teacher training program at Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in Stockbridge, MA. In addition, she has a master’s degree in exercise physiology and is in the evening MBA program at Babson College. Christy has over 20 years in the wellness and fitness business. Her professional background includes cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, fitness program management at Sun Microsystem and Harvard Business School’s Shad Hall, and pharmaceutical sales. She lives in Natick with her husband Ric and 3 children Ricky, Charlie and Josie.
