Your Online Practice

Sandy 3 450x300BACK TO THE MAT!

Starting Monday March 23, we will be offering Virtual Yoga Classes

Starting on Monday, we will be offering our live, online classes using Zoom. These classes will be done via ZOOM which is a very simple, easy and free to use video conferencing software that you can use with your computer, phone or tablet. All you need to do is to sign-up online for a Virtual classes on the SBPY Mindbody schedule for the day and time, just as you would any other class. And 10-15 minutes before class, we will send you the link so that you can join the class through your device.

We are working hard to make sure we can deliver these classes with your favorite SBPY teachers who you know and have become close with. In the spirit of openness, we need to make it clear that your monthly and class passes will be used to sign up and receive the link to enter the ZOOM online class. We are a small business and your class passes are what will keep us going during this difficult time and provide us with the opportunity to continue having our amazing teachers available to teach for you while our physical space is closed. We are encouraging all of our students to join us online to maintain your health, strength and mindfulness during this very trying period.

Getting Started with ZOOM

  • Goto https://zoom.us and download the software on your laptop, computer or phone. This will be the device you use to participate in each class and it’s like FaceTime only that instead of one to one, you will be with your entire class.
  • Once you register through Mindbody at https://clients.mindbodyonline.com/classic/mainclass?studioid=3670, you will receive a link via email from us.
  • Login to the ZOOM session 5 minutes before the class starting time to allow yourself to get situated.
  • At the bottom of your screen there is a microphone icon and we ask that you mute yourself so that background noise is not distracting the teacher or other students.
  • We would love to see you during class but we understand if you are not comfortable doing so initially. Also at the bottom of the screen there will be a camera. This allows you to control if your camera is on or off. We will be recording these practices so by joining, you are providing us with permission to distribute the recording so please note this as you make your decision to use the camera.
  • At the top of your screen you will see an option to change views. We recommend using the view that has the teacher at the front.

'Come here to fall in love with Yoga (all over again, if applicable).
If you happen to be new to yoga or want to perfect you're downward dog, I highly recommend the Intro Series -- Christy and Lali taught mine and both were supportive, knowledgable and adorable in every way...'

'...In the the few months that I've been going, I've attended classes taught by five different instructors and they've all been amazing. Most classes are an hour and a half, but they do offer an intense hour long class on Sat mornings that they call the Hour of Power. I've seriously never sweated so much in my life as I do during these classes...'

'This studio is one of the best around. I used to live down the road and took classes here regularly enough to become a studio assistant.  The heat and temperature at Spirit Bear is by far the best I have seen. A lot of placed in Boston I have been to don't seem to have it quite right.  Spirit Bear is also CLEAN!!! I hate going into a class where there are sweat puddles and hair from the previous class on the floor. I really like the instructors (who are educated and in tune) and the flow of the classes are great. I wish there were more studios like Spirit Bear in Boston.'
